Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that the Israeli occupation forces attacked Palestinian youths today at Lions Gate in occupied Jerusalem before Friday prayers.

The occupation forces greatly intensified their deployment at the entrances to the Old City and its surroundings, and prevented a number of Palestinians from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform prayers.

This coincides with the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club’s announcement that the occupation has arrested at least 15 Palestinians since yesterday evening in the West Bank, bringing the number of detainees there since the seventh of last October to about 6,940.

Dozens of settlers also stormed the village of Kharbatha Bani Harith and the town of Nilin, west of the city of Ramallah, and settlers attacked farmers and shepherds in the village of Burqa, east of the city.

The settlers organized a march under the protection of the occupation army towards the settlement outpost established nearly 5 years ago on Mount Al-Raysan. Settlers also stormed the village of Yanun, south of Nablus, and raided homes, inciting a state of intimidation to the village residents.

In Qalqilya, a Palestinian was injured after being run over by a settler’s car at the eastern entrance to the city, while the Israeli occupation forces stormed several towns in the West Bank, most notably the town of Budrus, west of the city of Ramallah, the towns of Azzun and Hajja, east of Nablus, the town of Beit Fajjar, south of the city of Bethlehem, and the town of “ Beit Ummar, north of the city of Hebron, south of the West Bank.

Arrests and injured

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that 5 people were injured by occupation bullets in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, where the occupation forces stormed the town. This led to the outbreak of confrontations with Palestinian youth.

The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that the occupation forces assaulted one of the injured people inside the ambulance while transporting him to the hospital.

The occupation forces also arrested young Palestinians, including freed prisoners, during their storming of the city of Tulkarm in the northern West Bank.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that 10 Israeli vehicles stormed the city from its western axis, besieged the eastern area, raided several homes, and arrested a number of young men before withdrawing.

It is noteworthy that since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on the seventh of last October, Israel has escalated its incursions and arrest campaigns in the West Bank, and settler attacks have escalated under the protection of the occupation army against Palestinians and their property in cities and towns in the West Bank.
