The Israeli ambulance announced that two Israelis were injured in a shooting that targeted a bus on Route 55 near the village of Nabi Elias, east of the city of Qalqilya in the northern West Bank, while combing operations are still continuing in search of the perpetrator of the attack.

Al Jazeera's correspondent said that the talk was about a single attacker who opened fire on a settler bus, wounding two of its passengers, one of whom was seriously injured, and he succeeded in withdrawing from the area.

The Israeli military spokesman said that the army sent reinforcements to the scene of the shooting, while an Israeli security source confirmed that the perpetrator of the attack set up an ambush for cars near the village, which led to a female settler being seriously injured inside the bus and another with light injuries in a car near it.

Israeli media also reported that the Eliyahu crossing area was closed on both sides, near which the shooting took place.

This is the second operation in Qalqilya within days. Last Wednesday, 4 Israeli policemen were injured in a run-over operation at the entrance to the town of Kochav Yair, near the town of Al-Tira, inside the Green Line, while the police announced that they had killed the perpetrator of the operation.

The Israeli police said that the perpetrator of the ramming attack also tried to stab security personnel at a military checkpoint in the area west of the city of Qalqilya.

Injuries and arrests in the West Bank

In contrast, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that 3 Palestinians were seriously injured by Israeli occupation army fire in the West Bank.

On Sunday morning, occupation army forces stormed the city of Ramallah and shot a young Palestinian man, wounding him in the head.

Confrontations broke out between the youths and the invading forces, during which the occupation soldiers fired live bullets at the youths, resulting in the injury of a citizen with a bullet to the head, after which he was transported to the hospital to receive treatment.

The occupation forces also arrested the freed prisoner and student at Birzeit University, Lian Kayed, after storming her home in the city of Ramallah.

The occupation forces, reinforced by a number of military vehicles, stormed the city from several fronts, conducted their patrols in several streets, and besieged the Ramallah Al-Tahta area before raiding the house of the girl Layan and arresting her.

Al Jazeera's correspondent said that the occupation forces opened fire on a Palestinian vehicle near the entrance to Beit Ainun, north of Hebron.

He pointed out that a young Palestinian man was injured by occupation forces' fire during confrontations that took place in the town of Ya'bad, southwest of the city of Jenin, in the northern West Bank.

The Prisoner's Club said that the occupation forces arrested 45 people yesterday, including women, children and former prisoners, in various parts of the West Bank, including a young man who was arrested by the occupation police at Damascus Gate near the Old City of Jerusalem under the pretext of attempting to carry out a stabbing attack.
