An Arab girl was killed, yesterday, after she fell from the balcony of the apartment where she and her family lived on the ninth floor in Al Nahda, Dubai.

A security source told Emirates Today that the five-year-old girl slipped and fell from the balcony, and died instantly as a result of hitting the ground.

He added that the patrols from the specialized police station, in addition to experts from the General Department of Forensic Evidence moved to the site of the accident, and the apartment and the balcony from which the child fell from were examined.

He stressed the need for families to pay attention to their children, especially those who live in the upper floors, and there are balconies or windows from which children can fall, as children, especially young people, do not have sufficient awareness about the dangers of playing or getting close to balconies or windows, pointing out that parents regret, But it was too late.

It is noteworthy that a one-month-old two-year-old girl finally fell from an upper floor in a residential building in the Emirate of Sharjah, which led to her death as well.

Sharjah Police announced that they are investigating the incident, after a report was received at 1.40, yesterday afternoon, that the child had fallen and died, pointing to a suspicion of neglect from the family.

The source stressed that the competent authorities in Dubai, and other emirates, are keen to implement strict requirements in the licenses related to the balcony and windows of residential buildings, in order to prevent accidents of children falling, but there is a need for parents to pay attention to their children, and take responsibility for their insurance well, whether not to let them play alone in Balconies, or tightly closed in their presence and absence, because one second may be a difference in the life and safety of a child.
