Last month, three middle school students, a male and female, were arrested in Chuo Ward, Osaka, for allegedly threatening a male university student in his 20s with the intention of stealing his money and causing him to fall from a building. Police interviews revealed that the two boys were suspected of luring them inside and waiting for them on another floor.

Police are investigating the possibility that the three had discussed the incident in advance and had planned to steal the money.

A 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, both junior high school students living in Osaka Prefecture, threatened a 22-year-old university student living in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture in Kawaraya-cho, Chuo Ward, Osaka to steal money, causing him to fall off a building and die. He was arrested on suspicion of robbery resulting in death.

Police also notified the child welfare center about a boy who was 13 years old at the time and was an acquaintance of the two.

Immediately after the university student was threatened by three people on the 6th floor of a building, he jumped onto the roof of a 4-story building next door, and then apparently fell, but one of the three, a girl, pulled the university student inside the building. Police interviews revealed that the two boys were suspected of luring the boy to the store and waiting for him on another floor.

In a voluntary interview before her arrest, the girl said, ``I told the victim to wait on the 6th floor of the building, then I went down to the 4th floor and met up with the two boys. The three of us then took the elevator and returned to the 6th floor.'' ” he was talking about.

It is believed that the university student met the girl on SNS and met her for the first time on the day of the incident, so police are investigating the details of the incident, believing that the three had talked in advance and had planned to steal the money.

Of the two arrested during the investigation, the girl admitted to the charges, while the boy partially denied the charges.
