Dubai Police revealed the ability of the “Eyes” system to monitor wrong behaviors in leadership, as well as its role in covering other major sectors: the tourism sector, the criminal sector and the port sector, during a session held under the title “electronic innovation”, on the closing day of the first conference To reduce crime, in the presence of the Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri.

The session dealt with a presentation about a sophisticated system that predicts crimes before they happen in Dubai, using artificial intelligence, which analyzes information according to accurate algorithms, which allows sending an alarm signal once incidents or crimes are repeated in a region, and then predicting the location and timing of the crime.

Meanwhile, Mark Goodman, the advisor specializing in global security, told Emirates Today that what has been achieved in Dubai in recent years is amazing by all accounts.

He said that any person who wants to report an electronic crime, in New York, Los Angeles or Chicago, and in major European cities, may need two hours to register his communication, but Dubai Police invented the "E-CRIME" platform, which allows the communication to be registered within a few minutes, Stressing that no one understands the value of such platforms as security sector workers, as they seem simple ideas, but the results are impressive, it is possible that a small call can contribute to preventing a major crime, as long as it is received in the appropriate time.

He added that, through his work, he understands that the regular police officers in the centers located in major cities cannot register electronic crime reports, because they are not familiar with their developments, but in Dubai, by simply communicating through the platform, the amount can reach the person concerned.

He pointed out that smart police stations represent a leap into the future, some may think that they are exhibitionistic or impractical, but the reality confirms that modern generations do not prefer dealing with traditional police stations, and they have the technical skills necessary to accomplish their services through smart windows.

To that, the Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation Affairs, Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al-Mansouri, told «Emirates Today», on the sidelines of the conference, that the developed eyes system has achieved excellent and promising results, in the areas where it was subjected to testing, stressing that Dubai Police is keen to Apply the latest technologies in crime reduction.

He added that the first conference on crime reduction enhances the expertise of criminal investigation men, and access to international best practices and experiences, noting that such practices contribute, to a large extent, to the elimination of crime, by strengthening international cooperation.

The Technical Director of Geographic Information Systems at Space, Marwan Fadl, reviewed a security system developed in cooperation with the Dubai Police, which predicts crimes before they happen using artificial intelligence, through analyzing data and information with an accurate algorithm, which achieved impressive results in predicting the location and time of the crime, giving the police An opportunity to take a proactive step before the criminal.

He explained that the system shades the disturbing areas according to the crime indicator in red, and calculates the sequence of a specific crime, and put the possibilities of the place and the possible timing of the next crime, as well as its ability to send warning signals, in the event of a suspected matter in the region.

Strengthening the protective aspect

The director of the General Department of Criminal Investigations and Investigations, Brigadier Jamal Al-Jallaf, said that the “Eyes” system represents a shift in the security sector, as it links hundreds of thousands of cameras covering the Emirate of Dubai, in the first technical project of its kind, to make Dubai among the most intelligent cities in the world In the security field.

He added that the system focuses on several sectors, including the tourism sector, by covering areas and facilities with high tourist density, such as commercial centers and public parks, through which any problem facing the tourist can be monitored and solved within a record time.

He stressed the importance of the system in the criminal sector, by analyzing any suspicious movements monitored by cameras, and sending immediate alerts to the team, to take action on their basis, with the aim of preventing crime before it occurs, and strengthening the preventive aspect.

He continued that the system focuses on the traffic sector, so that the streets are monitored around the clock, and if any violations of the cameras are monitored and documented, it can also be used to develop solutions to traffic jams.
