Spartak midfielder Quincy Promes continues to be the center of attention of the sports community.

However, this time because of his very controversial behavior.

While the red-whites are preparing for the match of the 20th round of the Russian championship with Fakel, which will take place at Luzhniki, the midfielder in the United Arab Emirates goes to nightclubs with his girlfriend, rap singer Tabatha Robinson.

By the way, she herself posted a video with the player on social networks.

Of course, the athlete was stuck in Dubai not of his own free will.

He was unable to fly with the team from the winter training camp and take part in the 19th round match of the RPL with Zenit, as he was detained by local police at the airport.

For a long time, there was no specific information about the reason for the arrest, so there were rumors about Promes’s extradition to the Netherlands.

In his homeland, the football player was sentenced to six years in prison for drug smuggling.

However, as it turned out later, Quincy managed to commit an offense in the UAE.

He fled the scene of a traffic accident, which occurred on one of Spartak’s days off during training camp.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, which means it will most likely end with the usual fine.

However, Promes had to spend several days in a police station, after which, according to media reports, he was sent under house arrest to await trial.

However, official sources did not confirm the latest information, so it is possible that the Dutchman’s movement around the city was not limited in any way.

The trial in the footballer's case was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 5.

It was planned that immediately after it the player would return to Moscow and begin preparations for the confrontation with Fakel.

But, according to Russian Telegram channels, the trial had to be postponed for several days because the judge did not appear at the hearing for family reasons.

Thus, Promes had a few more days off.

Going to the party caused a storm of discontent in the sports community.

Thus, former head coach of Spartak Massimo Carrera said that a preventive conversation should be held with the midfielder.

“By going to the club with his girlfriend, Promes is doing wrong to those who are close to him and love him.

I think the coach should have a serious talk with Quincy after this.

He is a legend, and therefore his behavior should be an example for young Spartak fans,” Carrera told RT.

Former coach of the USSR national team Anatoly Byshovets even called the football player a “slob.”

In his opinion, the player was greatly influenced by his childhood.

“He spent it outside and was left to his own devices.

It was there that he was introduced to hip-hop and the gang lifestyle.

Therefore, everything that was deposited in childhood haunts him to this day.

Resolving a conflict with a cousin, getting involved in drug deals, going to nightclubs.

This became the norm for him back then.

And a good football career could not change Quincy’s character,” Byshovets told RT.

The specialist also emphasized that personal and professional qualities are two completely different things.

“A person can be a brilliant athlete, but at the same time be hostage to bad habits.

Or lead an inappropriate lifestyle.

This was the case with my national team partner Valery Voronin.

We were very worried about him when he miraculously survived an accident in 1968.

Unfortunately, this is all personal.

As in the case of Promes.

Therefore, it is a huge headache for Spartak when one of the leading players leads such a lifestyle.

They have to make a very difficult decision about his future,” Byshovets concluded.

Former red-and-white midfielder Alexander Mostovoy, in turn, is surprised by what is happening to the living legend of the club.

In his opinion, he felt unpunished.

“He thinks everything is okay and there’s no need to worry about things in the Netherlands and the UAE.

Unfortunately, I don’t understand what’s going on in the minds of young guys.

Although he is 32 years old, by my standards he is young.

In our time, not only did we not post our trips somewhere, we were afraid to appear on the street if we visited bars or clubs.

They understood that there would be a scandal.

They didn't even tell anyone about it.

And now everything is online and every fan knows where Quincy was last night.

This is shocking,” Mostovoy told RT.

The further Quincy’s story develops, the more people oppose his return to Spartak and the RPL in general.

Thus, according to RPL President Alexander Alaev, in the event of an unsuccessful appeal in a Dutch court, Promes should not perform in Russia.

“Until the case is closed, there is an appeal, we have a presumption of innocence, I will not accuse him.

If a person has committed a crime, he should not play.

The players, especially Promes, who is one of the league's top stars, serve as an example for children.

My son plays football at the age of 11; for him, Quincy is a reference point.

I don't know how it will end, but let's not put labels on it.

On the other hand, there is a right to work, we cannot ban playing, we will closely monitor the situation,” TASS quotes Alaev as saying.

However, according to commentator Vasily Utkin, Spartak is a loser in any case, no matter how the story with Promes ends.

According to him, the midfielder had to look for a replacement in the offseason.

“There is no final verdict from the court; everyone will still get tired of the history of appeals.

Whether Quincy is extradited or not is generally only part of his own biography.

One side is already a complete loser - Spartak.

He lost a leading player when he can no longer be replaced.

Lost and lost, once again incorrectly assessing the risks.

What’s wrong there is simply ignored,” Utkin wrote in a column on the “Soviet Sport” website.

The club has so far promised to take disciplinary action against Quincy.

Moreover, this was said even before Promes visited the nightclub.

“The footballer is still in the UAE.

The club is in touch with him and is providing the necessary assistance in resolving the circumstances that did not allow him to fly to St. Petersburg on time... After returning to Russia, the club will take disciplinary measures against him,” the red-and-white press service said in a statement.
