Probably more than one life, a cat from Tasmania has used up: The six-month-old animal has apparently gone unnoticed in a washing machine. The family discovered it in the drum when the program was already running for 30 minutes. The owner reported the transmitter ABC.

The cat named "Poppy" was suddenly gone without a trace one evening. Owner Kim Burr and her children would have looked for her all over the house - until Burr dawned where she might be.

"I stopped the washing machine and there it was," she told the sender. Poppy had survived 30 minutes in the drum of the front loader. According to Burr, only ten minutes left the program. The animal just barely escaped the spin of the machine.

"I think she must have jumped in when I took the laundry baskets and got the second load." If she'd been in the hamper, she would have noticed, Burr said.

For a moment, Burr thought her cat was dead. "I thought her neck was broken." The body of her pet had been powerless and she had not breathed properly.

The family quickly wrapped the cat in a towel and taken it to an animal clinic. According to the doctor, she had water in her lungs as well as head and eye injuries. Their temperature was also very low. Nevertheless, Poppy suffered no breakages or permanent damage.

As the family told the broadcaster ABC, Poppy is now fully recovered from the incident.
