An attentive snack staff may have saved a regular customer's life in Dusseldorf. Because the man did not pick up his pre-ordered food for the first time, he called the police.

After the employee suspected mischief, the officials were disembarked to the apartment of the 54-year-old in North Rhine-Westphalia, said a police spokesman.

Lack of life required the police to emergency doctor and fire department. Rescuers opened the door - and found the man lying unconscious on Saturday and in acute danger to his home.

The regular customer came to the hospital. Without the 30-year-old snack staff he would have died, it said. The police write about a rescue "in the last second".
