An ICE has been bombarded near Ladenburg near Mannheim with an air rifle. No one was injured, said the Federal Police in Karlsruhe. The train was on Thursday evening from Berlin to Saarbrücken on the way. Where exactly the shots hit the train, is still unclear after initial investigation of the police.

The train was hit in nine places, four cars were damaged on doors, windows and walls. The windows were not smashed, the damage was limited to the outer side of the double glazing. So no shot got inside the car. No projectiles were found on the train.

The approximately 150 people aboard the train were brought to safety. The Federal Police investigate against unknown because of dangerous interference in the rail traffic.
