In parts of southern Germany there have been floods. On the night of Monday, several rivers and streams in Bavaria overflowed the banks. Also from some regions of Baden-Wuerttemberg flooding was reported because of rain and thaw.

Especially in the middle and in the north of Bavaria were partially flooded fields and meadows, as the flood news service announced. For the Upper Franconian district of Kulmbach he warned against flooding in built-up areas.

In Central Franconia, too, the police turned to flooding. "The flood is slow," said a spokeswoman in the morning. In Lower Bavaria, according to a police spokesman, the water levels rose slightly.

Reporting status exceeded

On the Neckar in Gundelsheim, Lauffen and Horb as well as on the Rems and the Fils were exceeded according to the flood forecasting center of Baden-Wuerttemberg in the night for Monday reporting water conditions. On the Neckar, the water levels rose even further in the morning, said a hydrologist.

In Heidelberg as well as in Eberbach and Neckargemünd threatens a flood of roads along the Neckar. Flood highlights are the northeastern part of the country and the Black Forest, according to the flood forecast center.
