The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism confirmed that Toyota Industries had cheated on its exhaust gas performance tests. has been canceled.

The type designations have been canceled for Toyota Industries'

two types of engines for forklifts and

one type for construction machinery.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, after carrying out on-site inspections starting in late January this year regarding fraud in exhaust gas performance tests, a detailed investigation revealed that the engine control programs were rewritten during exhaust gas tests on these engines. This means that malicious misconduct has been confirmed.

Furthermore, it was discovered that the engines for construction machinery did not meet the exhaust gas performance standards required by the government.

For this reason, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism canceled the type designation required for mass production of these three types of engines on the 5th, based on the Road Transport Vehicle Law.

Toyota Industries indicated its intention to accept the cancellation policy at a hearing last week.

Regarding Toyota Industries' exhaust gas performance testing, fraud has so far been revealed in eight types of engines installed in forklifts and automobiles, and with this latest punishment, type designation has been removed for all five types of engines for industrial machinery. Canceled.
