Finalist of the previous edition, winner of two of the last five editions, Wydad Casablanca was up against the wall.

Indeed, the Moroccan club was beaten in the balance of direct confrontations by Simba in second place in the group B ranking. To qualify, WAC first had to win at home against ASEC Mimosas, already qualified, but hope for a better result than Simba who hosted the Jwaneng Galaxy.

With a victory for the Tanzanians, Wydad could say goodbye to the second round.

And Simba largely beat Jwaneng Galaxy (6-0), while Wydad Casablanca won 1-0 against the Ivorians.

Already qualified, Mamelodi Sundowns and TP Mazembe also faced each other this Saturday.

Beaten in the first leg, the South Africans took their revenge by winning 1-0 in Pretoria.

They finished at the top of the group with 3 points ahead of the Congolese.

The South Africans opened the scoring at the end of the first period with a penalty converted by Peter Shalulile (38th).

The TP Mazembe players will face a group winner in the quarter-finals.
