Two representatives of a Tokyo-based company that constructs and sells solar power generation equipment have been arrested by the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office's Special Investigation Department on charges of evading approximately 38 million yen in corporate tax by recording fictitious outsourcing costs. .

Those arrested were Shin Takahashi (69), the representative director of Solar Heart, a Tokyo-based company that constructs and sells solar power generation equipment, and Mitsuko Goto (36), an executive.



According to the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office Special Investigation Department, the two evaded taxes of approximately 38 million yen by concealing more than 150 million yen in company income by recording fictitious outsourcing expenses in the year up to February 2020. As a result, the company is suspected of violating corporate tax laws.



The Special Investigation Department and the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau searched the company's headquarters in Chuo Ward, Tokyo on the morning of the 28th.



The Special Investigation Department has not revealed whether he admitted or denied the charges, but according to people involved, Takahashi denied the charges during a voluntary interview before his arrest.



According to sources, the representative appears to have used the tax evaded funds for stock investments, etc., and the Special Investigation Department and the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau are expected to investigate the details of the incident by analyzing seized materials.
