After the arrest of the former RAF terrorist Daniela Klette, the investigators arrested another person.

After the arrest, the police could not yet say who it was.

It is now clear that the person arrested is not the other wanted former RAF terrorists Burkhard Garweg or Ernst-Volker Staub, as the police announced.

The man was released.

A tip from November 2023 led the investigators on the trail of the arrested former left-wing terrorist Daniela Klette.

"It turned out that the tip turned into a real lead," Friedo de Vries, the president of the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office, said at a press conference on Wednesday.

The investigators said that numerous tips were also received after the program “File number XY... unsolved” a few weeks ago.

These would now be evaluated.

Investigators said a judge at the Verden district court issued a total of six arrest warrants for the 65-year-old for various robberies.

She is now in a correctional facility.

Lower Saxony's Interior Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) spoke of the arrest as a "milestone" in German crime history.

Investigators arrested Klette in Berlin-Kreuzberg on Monday evening.

At the time she was alone in the apartment in an apartment building.

The former RAF terrorists Klette as well as Burkhard Garweg and Ernst-Volker Staub have been searched for for a long time.

The RAF is responsible for 33 murders from the 1970s to the early 1990s.

In 1977 she killed Federal Prosecutor General Siegfried Buback.

Twelve years later, the then Deutsche Bank boss Alfred Herrhausen died in an explosive attack.

The terrorist group officially disbanded in 1998 and was no longer active.
