Two students were apparently attacked with a knife at a primary school in Duisburg-Marxloh.
Various media report this unanimously.
A 21-year-old suspect was arrested, police said.
He is suspected of having attacked the children.
The police tweeted: »There was an attack on two children in the Dahlstrasse area in Duisburg #Marxloh.
The police are on site with many emergency services.
The children could have escaped to a nearby school, according to investigators.
The police have not yet commented on the murder weapon.
The children are currently being treated in hospitals.
There is currently no danger to the population.
According to their own information, the police assume that the perpetrator was a lone perpetrator.
The area around the crime scene has been cordoned off.
The background to the crime is the subject of the investigation.
