Two people were killed in a serious traffic accident on Autobahn 5 in Hesse.

As the police in Darmstadt announced on Friday, a timber transport truck lost its tension straps during the night near the Langen/Mörfelden-Walldorf junction.

When the 51-year-old driver wanted to clear it away, he was hit by several cars and fatally injured.

Another driver tried to avoid the truck driver and crashed his car under the parked truck, it said.

According to the information, the driver of the car was also killed.

The road in the direction of Frankfurt was completely closed, as the police announced.

An expert was called in to reconstruct the accident.
