In response to problems such as water containing radioactive materials leaking from contaminated water purification equipment at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Saito advised Tokyo Electric Power Company President Tomoaki Kobayakawa on the 21st to do everything possible to ensure safety. The idea was to provide guidance on how to do this.

Regarding the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, on the 7th of this month, water containing radioactive substances leaked outside from a contaminated water purification system, and in October last year, radioactive substances were found in workers who were cleaning contaminated water treatment equipment. Problems such as splashing of waste liquid containing substances have been occurring one after another.

Regarding this, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Saito said at a press conference after the cabinet meeting on the 20th, ``Even one mistake could cause us to lose the trust of the local community and society.'' TEPCO is working to maintain maximum tension in light of local worries and concerns. I want them to take it and work on it."

On the 21st, TEPCO President Kobayakawa told the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, ``I would like to give guidance to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to carry out the decommissioning work with utmost care to ensure further safety, as a management priority issue, including thorough measures to prevent recurrence.'' The plan was to call the police and instruct them to take all possible precautions to ensure safety.
