The person arrested was Daiki Kawahara (27), a company executive from Wakamatsu-cho, Ube City.



According to the police, between the 25th of last month and the 8th of this month, 32 copper cables called "Rail Bonds" were found attached to rail joints 1.3 kilometers east of Koto Station on the JR Sanyo Main Line. , is suspected of stealing the equivalent of 336,000 yen in market value.



Police received a report from JR and were conducting an investigation, including analyzing security camera footage.



Police suspect that he was trying to sell the item and are investigating whether he was an accomplice.

On JR's two lines in Yamaguchi Prefecture, the "Rail Bonds" were severed and removed at approximately 170 locations on the Ube Line and at approximately 50 locations on the Sanyo Main Line, resulting in damage reaching 450 lines. Police are continuing to investigate the incident as a theft.
