A film director has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department on charges that he lured a woman aspiring to be an actor to an apartment in Tokyo's Minato Ward under the pretext of giving her acting guidance and sexually assaulted her. In response to the investigation, he has denied the charges.

The suspect was Hideo Sakaki (53), a company executive and film director from Nakahara Ward, Kawasaki City.

Eight years ago, in May 2016, he is suspected of luring a woman in her 20s to an apartment in Tokyo's Minato Ward under the pretext of giving acting guidance and sexually assaulting her.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect appears to have lured the woman, who was participating in an acting instruction workshop, to his apartment by saying things like, ``Let's talk a little more about acting.''

It is believed that he then hinted at her appearance in a movie and sexually assaulted her, saying things like, ``I want to see if she has tattoos or if she's naked.''

The Metropolitan Police Department has determined that the woman, who aspires to be an actor, was unable to resist the suspect, who was a movie director.

In response to the investigation, he denied the charges, saying, "I have not been guilty."

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is investigating whether there are multiple other cases of similar damage.
