A 16-year-old from Upper Bavaria died after a skiing accident in Tyrol. The teenager from Beilngries in the Eichstätt district fell onto the slopes on Friday while riding over a freestyle jump in the Christlum ski area near Achenkirch, a spokeswoman for the Tyrolean state police said on Tuesday.

The skier reportedly sustained serious injuries in the hard impact. Witnesses provided first aid and alerted the emergency services. The teenager was resuscitated on site after the accident and taken to a clinic in Innsbruck by helicopter. She died there on Monday.
