Partly affected by the disruption in Hamburg: The emergency call

The telephone networks of the Hamburg police and fire departments were affected by a technical malfunction in the afternoon. The police announced on X, formerly Twitter, that "incoming and outgoing external calls cannot be carried out in every case." Emergency calls from the police and fire brigade were also partially affected. After a short time, the Hamburg fire department gave the all-clear on the platform: “The emergency numbers 110 and 112 can be reached again.” It was initially unclear why the disruption occurred.

The police previously mentioned on the account that they should use the Nora app in emergencies if necessary. The app, which has been available since 2021, allows emergency calls to be made without speaking, but there had previously been problems due to intentionally false alarm messages. It temporarily disappeared from the app stores in September.
