In this case, it was revealed that more than 9 million pieces of personal information held by local governments and companies had been illegally leaked, and last month, a former temporary employee of a subsidiary of NTT West illegally took customer information from the company. He was arrested on suspicion of violating the Unfair Competition Prevention Act for leaking information to a listing company.



Regarding this issue, on the 9th, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications handed over a document to NTT West's president, Masaaki Mori, requesting administrative guidance to prevent a recurrence.



In this, it is said that the supervision of outsourced personal information was not carried out properly, causing a loss of trust among users, and that, as a telecommunications carrier that provides services of a highly public nature, We are asking for protection and measures to prevent it from happening again.



After receiving the administrative guidance document, President Mori told the press, ``We will take this incident very seriously and will take measures to prevent it from happening again.''



Based on the results of an internal investigation, NTT West plans to announce specific measures to prevent recurrence within this month.
