In the scandal surrounding alleged sexual assaults by Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann, the Lithuanian public prosecutor's office has closed its defamation investigation, an authority spokesman told "Welt am Sonntag".

Accordingly, the investigators tried to prove whether the musician had been wrongly suspected of having committed crimes. The Northern Irish woman Shelby Lynn started the #MeToo scandal surrounding the band Rammstein in May 2023 when she stated that she may have been drugged and injured during a concert. The public prosecutor's office in Vilnius then began an investigation, which was, however, discontinued shortly afterwards.

Lindemann, for his part, initiated defamation investigations with the Lithuanian public prosecutor's office in July last year through a letter from his lawyer. These have now also ended. Proceedings for sexual offenses by the Berlin public prosecutor's office also came to nothing because the alleged victims did not report to court.
