In North Rhine-Westphalia, two boys aged 13 and 14 caused a serious traffic accident - with a presumably stolen classic car. They suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospitals, as the police in Bochum announced on Tuesday. There is no danger to life. It is still unclear which of the two boys was behind the wheel.

According to the police, the two teenagers were traveling in the classic car in Herne on Tuesday night. While turning, the car left the road and collided with three parked vehicles. Due to the force of the impact, the classic car was pushed under a parked car.

Witnesses heard a loud bang around 3:44 a.m. on Tuesday night and called the police. According to initial findings, the accident was preceded by a break-in at a car workshop, it was said. The teenagers, who are known to the police, are suspected of having stolen the car involved in the accident. The vehicle was confiscated.
