Regarding the roadside tree problem that was discovered in front of the store of the used car sales company "Big Motor," a suspect in his 50s who worked at the company's headquarters is suspected of having given instructions to cut down the tree in front of the store in Kawasaki City. As a result, it was revealed through interviews with investigators that the Kanagawa Prefectural Police have decided to arrest him on the 30th on suspicion of damaging property.

Since July 2023, roadside trees in front of Big Motor stores have been found one after another in various locations, and Kanagawa Prefectural Police are conducting searches of the three stores and headquarters where damage was confirmed in the prefecture. We were investigating whether the company was involved.



As a result, it was discovered that the suspect, a man in his 50s who worked at the company's head office, was suspected of having ordered the trees to be cut down in October 2019 at a store in Kawasaki City where log-cutting marks were found. Interviews with people involved in the investigation revealed that the prefectural police have decided to arrest him on the 30th on suspicion of damaging property.



This is the first arrest in the country for roadside tree damage after a series of problems were discovered.



According to people involved, the suspect was in the position of an ``environmental improvement promotion committee'' who patrolled and inspected each store.
