In the award-winning TV series "Peaky Blinders - Gangs of Birmingham", it is the eldest of the Shelby brothers who repeatedly endangers the success of the family-run gangster gang, including through his drug addiction.

Now Paul Anderson, who plays Arthur Shelby in the series, has been fined a total of 1,345 British pounds in London for drug possession. Anderson had previously pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine, amphetamines and two prescription substances, the Guardian reported.

Prosecutors say Anderson was arrested on Boxing Day. The Daily Mail reported that the actor was picked up near his home in London. A bar owner called the police because he noticed the smell of crack coming from the barrier-free toilet after Anderson was there. According to the report, when police arrested Anderson, they found him with a young man and a 17-month-old child.

According to consistent reports, Anderson's lawyer argued in court to exonerate his client that he was doing "his best" to please Peaky Blinders fans when they recognized him. Anderson does this “by slipping into his role.”

And further: “He was recognized on that Boxing Day and tried to impersonate these people. And because of his lifestyle, people often give him incentives«. His attorney also said Anderson did not smoke crack cocaine himself, but added, "He found himself in an unfortunate situation and should have had the strength to say no."

Peaky Blinders, starring Cilian Murphy, has won various awards in the past, especially in the UK.
