Mr. Ogata is 60 years old and is from Fukuoka Prefecture.



He joined the National Police Agency in 1987 and held positions such as Director of Security and Deputy Inspector General of the Metropolitan Police Department, and from August of 2017, he served as Deputy Commissioner of the National Police Agency.



Mr. Ogata said that the security structure is changing, with young people easily responding to calls on SNS and participating in crimes, and that he will focus on efforts to deal with threats in cyberspace and special fraud.
