The shelter is planned to be set up within the premises of Azabu-Juban Station on the Toei Oedo Line in Minato Ward.



The government is asking prefectures to designate evacuation facilities that are easy to evacuate to and can carry out relief activities in the unlikely event of a missile attack.



As of October last year, 4,258 concrete buildings and subway stations had been designated as "emergency temporary evacuation facilities" in Tokyo, but in preparation for a situation that could cause serious damage, the metropolitan government is currently We have been considering the development of shelters that can reduce damage compared to other evacuation facilities.

According to officials at the Tokyo metropolitan government, as a result of consideration, there is a disaster prevention storage warehouse deep underground with space that can be renovated into a shelter, and the decision has been made to build it within the premises of Azabu-Juban Station. .



The Tokyo metropolitan government plans to include shelter research costs in its new fiscal year budget proposal.
