In Iceland, there has been widespread criticism of Israel's participation in Eurovision due to the war in Gaza, writes RÚV.

RÚV's manager Stefán Eiríksson says that he and several of the artists are concerned.

- The singing competition is our preparation for Eurovision and we have previously said that we intend to participate in Eurovision without changes, but we do not know what the future holds, he says.

The decision will therefore only be made after the Söngvakeppnin has been decided, in consultation with the winner.

Decisions will therefore only come in mid-March.

Making a decision about whether RÚV will participate in Eurovision only after the Söngvakeppnin is decided is completely new, says Rúnar Freyr Gíslason, project manager of the Söngvakeppnin.

The Söngvakeppnin's participants will be presented on Saturday and the participants have been informed of the arrangement and have accepted it.

The cultural news is looking for RÚV.
