The Bochum public prosecutor's office has brought charges against the former deputy mayor of Lünen, Daniel Wolski.

The 41-year-old is in custody because of sexual abuse allegations.

The man's defense attorney did not want to comment on the allegations on Monday.

Starting in 2018, the defendant is said to have arranged to have sexual intercourse with young people several times in Bochum, Dortmund and Lünen.

He is said to have paid between 40 and 100 euros for this.

Nude pictures are also said to have been exchanged.

According to the investigators, two of the young people affected were 16 years old at the time of the crime;

the remaining young people were therefore 14, 15 and 17 years old.

In 2019, the accused was also said to have had contact with a child who was 12 or 13 years old at the time and had highly sexualized chats with him via WhatsApp, it was said.

The accused is said to have repeatedly asked the child to send nude pictures.

He is also said to have tried to get the child to meet up for oral sex.

Bought material showing the abuse

According to the court, a search of his cell phone and other devices revealed numerous child and youth pornographic content.

According to the information, these included both image and video files.

The defendant is also accused of purchasing material that shows the abuse of children and young people.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the starting point of the investigation was a 16-year-old at the time of the alleged crime who met the politician in 2018 via a dating platform.

She went to see Wolski with a friend of the same age.

Sexual acts between three people took place in return for payment of money.

At the end of 2022, the teenager revealed herself to the authorities and triggered the investigation.

The volunteer local politician was taken into custody at the end of October because there was a risk of escape and concealment.

Wolski then resigned from office.

According to the public prosecutor's office, he made a partial confession to the police in December, but also presented some of the incidents differently than what he was accused of.

The indictment includes 36 offenses.
