The "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Festival Orchestra", which performed the opening concert of the Music Week, is composed of musicians from the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and Macau Orchestra.

This music week is hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. Supporting units include the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, and the Shenzhen Municipal Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau; it is sponsored by the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Xinghai Concert Hall, It is hosted by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Macao Orchestra, and the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and co-organized by the Beijing International Music Festival Art Foundation.

On the evening of January 21, more than 80 young musicians from all over the world gathered for the first time in the rehearsal hall of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra on Ersha Island, Pearl River.
That night, the opening concert of the music week was held at the Xinghai Concert Hall, thus kicking off the 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) International Youth Music Week.
