A police sergeant at Ageo Police Station in Saitama Prefecture, who was arrested on suspicion of robbery and bodily harm for injuring a security guard after shoplifting radishes from a supermarket, has been suspended from his job for three months.

According to the police, on the 11th of last month, while he was working, he shoplifted two radishes from a supermarket in Ageo City, and was arrested on suspicion of robbery causing injury after shaking off a security guard who was chasing him and causing him to fall and injure himself. Ta.



After further investigation, police found out that he was suspected of shoplifting vegetables and drinks from two other supermarkets in the city on the same day, and on the 19th, police sent papers to prosecutors on suspicion of theft.



Upon investigation, he admitted to the charges and made statements such as, ``When I go to the supermarket, I feel like picking up items.I couldn't stop shoplifting on my own.''



The police suspended him for three months as of the 19th, and the police sergeant has requested resignation.
