Barcelona-born actor José Lifante died on Tuesday at the age of 80 at the Hospital Clínico de Madrid after being admitted for a blood clot, according to AISGE, an actors' management organisation.

In an interview, shared by AISGE on their X profile, they recall that the actor was grateful to the profession because he did everything an actor could imagine.

The Film Academy has also bid farewell to Lifante, who was one of its members, recalling that he worked on films such as 'Do Not Desecrate the Sleep of the Dead', 'Tobi', 'The Trout', 'Fear of Going Out at Night', 'National Heritage' or 'The Gardener's Dog'.

The actor made his first film appearances in the 60s, when he appeared in Francisco Rovira Beleta's 1961 film 'The Muggers'. That same year he also filmed 'Juventud a la intemperie' by Ignacio Iquino.
