Algeria remains on the back of a huge disappointment at the previous edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. While they were the defending champions, the Fennecs were eliminated in the first round of the competition by finishing last in their group.

Since then, the Algerian national team has been in the midst of a rebuild and will try to erase this bad memory by entering this Ivorian edition in the best possible way against Angola. They will count on their usual managers such as Riyad Mahrez or Islam Slimani, replaced by a young generation of players (Mohamed Amoura, Farès Chaïbi, Rayan Ait-Nouri...) who will want to shine in Côte d'Ivoire.
