On April 24, "Back to Black," the highly anticipated biopic about the short life of Amy Winehouse, who tragically passed away at the age of 27, will be released in theaters. The trailer for the film, which gives a first glimpse of Marisa Abela's performance as the singer, has just been unveiled.

More than 27 years ago, <>-year-old Amy Winehouse died alone in her London apartment. Three days before her disappearance, her relatives had seen her drunk but were not worried. The singer had already shown herself to be in much worse shape... Nothing to report.

A unique voice

His body, destroyed by ten years of addiction, finally succumbed to the absorption of too much alcohol (4.16 grams). Back to Black, the biopic on the singer, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (50 Shades of Grey) will obviously look back at the tragic end of Amy, which sadly made her enter the "club of 27", but also on her meteoric rise in 2006 with the release of Back to Black, her second opus which has become cult.

At the time, 22-year-old Amy was bringing the world to her feet with her soul-sounding hits Rehab, You Know I'm No Good, and Love Is a Losing Game. The star sings with an unequalled (and always unequalled) power about his demons, his excesses and his setbacks. Yes, there were addictions to drugs and alcohol, but also to a man, his partner Blake Fielder-Civil, played by Jack O'Connell (Skins). Amy is played by 27-year-old English actress Marisa Abela, whose metamorphosis can be seen in the biopic's trailer, unveiled on Thursday, January 11.

"I want people to hear my voice and forget their worries," Amy says in the video, which shows her in the studio recording Back to Black, but also chased by paparazzi through the streets of London. Back to Black promises to tell the story of his "vibrant years in London in the early 2000s and his intense journey to stardom", made of light and shadow. An ambitious project supported by Mitch Winehouse, the singer's father, so that the unique voice and genius of his daughter, who unfortunately left us too soon, will never be forgotten.
