About three months after the start of the war in the Middle East, Israeli actor and singer Idan Amedi was seriously injured. According to Israeli media reports, Amedi was taken to a hospital in Tel HaShomer in the Tel Aviv district for medical treatment.

Shortly after the start of the war on 7 October, Amedi had enlisted as a reservist for the Israeli army and had since been stationed in the Gaza Strip, among other places. It is unclear exactly how the 35-year-old was injured. According to his father, Amedi's life is not in danger.

Amedi had repeatedly reported on his mission on social networks and talked about the Israel-Gaza war, he has more than 250,000 followers on Instagram. As recently as last week, he had complained about the critics of the Israeli mission in Gaza. If you don't have anything good to say, keep your mouth shut, Amedi said in the video, according to The Times of Israel.

Amedi is known for his role in the Netflix series »Fauda«

Idan Amedi gained international fame through the Israeli Netflix series »Fauda«. The four seasons are about a special unit of Israel in the fight against Hamas. Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz, the two creators of the series, have described Amedi as a "real hero" on the short message service X and wished him a speedy recovery.

The war between Israel and Hamas was triggered by the horrific terrorist attack by the Islamist group on October 7. Fighters of the Palestinian group, which is classified as a terrorist organization by the EU and the US, murdered more than 1200,<> people. Israel responded with massive air strikes and a ground offensive.

According to the health authority controlled by the Islamist Hamas, which cannot be independently verified, more than 22,800 people have been killed and around 58,000 injured in the Gaza Strip since the war began. The Israeli military, for its part, reports 173 fallen soldiers.
