The specialist said that on Monday, January 8, in Moscow, the final of the "frost series" is the last day of abnormally cold weather.

"By the evening, the temperature will rise to -14...-16 ° C. However, this is still noticeably lower than normal," Leus said.

According to him, on Tuesday, January 9, the weather in the capital will be affected by an active "diving cyclone".

"This is how meteorologists call atmospheric vortices that very quickly move from the Barents Sea to the southeast of the European territory of Russia, that is, as if "dumping" from north to south. One of these cyclones will hit the capital region tomorrow. The weather will be mostly cloudy, there will be light snow and during the day the temperature will rise to -8 ... -10 ° C. On Wednesday, the capital will fall under the influence of the next such cyclone, of which there will be three in total this week. The final one will be on Thursday. On Wednesday it will be cloudy with snow at times. The daytime temperature is in the range of -6...-8 °C. On Thursday it will be even warmer, -2...-4 °C, and also snow at times," the forecaster added.

RT's interlocutor drew attention to the fact that on Thursday, January 11, the cyclone will pass through Moscow and go to the southeast, and on Friday, January 12, it will be replaced by the crest of a cold anticyclone.

"Snow on Friday will be light and will pass only in places, and the temperature will drop to -12...-14 °C," Leus concluded.

Earlier, the head of the Meteo forecasting center, Alexander Shuvalov, said that the first five-day week in Moscow and the Moscow region will be extremely cold.
