With the series, Royal Mail celebrates the 30th anniversary of the band formed in 1994. The stamps feature both individual images of each member of the band and various images from the band's performances around the world.

The pop band becomes the sixth music group to receive a stamp issue. Previous days have been The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Rolling Stones and Iron Maiden.

"It's girl power!"

This is the first time Royal Mail has released stamps emblazoned with an all-female pop group. In a press release, they say they are "so excited" to be celebrated by Royal Mail.

"When we formed the Spice Girls, we couldn't have dreamed that 30 years later we would be the first female group to be dedicated to an entire stamp collection, that's girl power!" says the band.
