Six years ago, on the Tomei Expressway in Kanagawa Prefecture, the appeal of the defendant who was sentenced to 6 years in prison by the Yokohama District Court in the first instance for killing and injuring four family members after reckless driving was held at the Tokyo High Court on the 4th. The verdict will be handed down in February next year.

Six years ago, in an accident in which a van parked on the road on the Tomei Expressway in Kanagawa Prefecture was rear-ended by a truck, killing and injuring four family members, the defendant Kazuho Ishibashi (6) was charged with dangerous driving causing death and injury as a result of reckless driving.

In a redo trial last year, the Yokohama District Court applied the charge of dangerous driving manslaughter and sentenced him to 4 years in prison on the grounds that "the accident occurred due to the defendant's repeated reckless driving four times."

In the first trial, the defense argued not guilty, saying that it did not constitute reckless driving, and appealed after the verdict.

At the appeal hearing held at the Tokyo High Court on the 31th, the defense argued that "there were problems with the finding of facts and the way the trial proceeded in the first trial, and it is necessary to consider them."

The trial will conclude on the same day, and the verdict will be handed down on February 4 next year.
