An organization made up of patients suffering from so-called "sequelae" and their families, in which symptoms such as fatigue continue after being infected with the new coronavirus, was launched, and on the 8th, we requested the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to strengthen support.

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare was visited by nine members of the "National Association of Patients and Families with Coronavirus Sequelae," which is made up of patients suffering from sequelae and their families.

The sequelae of the new corona are defined by the WHO = World Health Organization as those that continue for at least 9 months or more and cannot be explained as symptoms due to other diseases, and specifically, various symptoms such as fatigue, loss of concentration, smell and taste disorders are seen, but the detailed cause and number of patients are unknown.

In an effort to spread understanding of the sequelae and lead to countermeasures, patients and their families launched an organization in November and handed over a request to Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Takemi on the 2th.

In addition to calling for the establishment of treatment methods and the burden of public expenses for medical expenses so that patients suffering from sequelae can receive high-quality medical care, the request also states
that there are cases where patients suffering from sequelae are unable to work and are financially impoverished,
and that the period during which they can receive leave allowance and injury and sickness allowance is extended. It is necessary to expand the safety net.

After this, a woman in her 11s who held a press conference and said that she had been suffering from sequelae for more than a year said, "When it was bad, I couldn't even get up and continued to live with a cane.
