An arson attack has apparently been carried out on the headquarters of a group of exiled Iranian opposition members in Berlin. At a window of the house in Landecker Strasse in Wilmersdorf, residents noticed fire on Monday night, which they were able to extinguish themselves, the police said. No one was harmed.

The building is home to the National Council of Resistance of Iran, an association that opposes the Islamist dictatorship in Iran. The Criminal Investigation Department is investigating.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran accused Iran's intelligence service of being behind the alleged attack. Terrorists and "mercenaries" of the secret service had thrown "incendiary materials in the direction of the building". Already in May and June, a headquarters of the group in Paris had been shot at and thrown.
