Gergiev became co-chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers together with Mashkov

As the chairman of the counting commission Sergey Morozov noted, according to the results of a secret ballot, the secretariat of the union in the amount of 34 people was elected.

Thus, the secretariat includes 34 people, including the head of the Vakhtangov Theater Kirill Krok, the director of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky theaters Valery Gergiev, the artistic director of the Helikon Opera Dmitry Bertman, the rector of GITIS Grigory Zaslavsky, the rector of the Shchukin Theater Institute Evgeny Knyazev, the artistic director of the Moscow Provincial Theater Sergei Bezrukov and the rector of the Shchepkin Higher Theater School Boris Lyubimov.

Earlier it was reported that People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Mashkov became the new chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia.

On December 1, Gergiev officially took office as director of the Bolshoi Theatre.
