On the 1st of this month, on the Hachinohe Expressway in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, a tire came off a moving large truck and hit a man on the side of the road, resulting in an accident in which he died, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has conducted an audit of the transport company that managed the truck, and is investigating in detail whether the wheels were properly inspected.

On the 1st of this month, on the Hachinohe Expressway in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, two tires on the left side of the rear wheel came off from a moving large truck and collided with Taisuke Kimura (2), an office worker who was working on the side of the road, and Mr. Kimura was subsequently killed, and a 32-year-old man who was doing the same work was also slightly injured.

In response to the accident, the Tohoku Transport Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism conducted an audit based on the Freight Vehicle Transportation Business Act at the Iwate sales office of the transport company "Mori Transport" in Aomori City, which managed the truck, just after 4 a.m. on the 11th.

We are investigating whether the wheels were inspected and the driver's work management, which is required by law, was properly carried out.

The company acknowledged that the inspection of the wheels before driving may have been insufficient, and commented, "We would like to fully cooperate with the audit of the Transport Bureau and the police investigation."

In addition, the 60-year-old driver who was driving the truck told the company that 'the truck slid when slowing down to the car in front,' so the police are investigating the situation at that time in detail.
