The Dortmund public prosecutor's office has brought charges against former national football player Nico Schulz. The ex-Borussia Dortmund player is accused of dangerous bodily harm in three cases. This was announced by the public prosecutor's office at the request of the SID news agency.

The crimes are said to have taken place in January, March and August 2020 in Berlin and Dortmund. BVB announced the termination of Schulz's contract last July. His ex-girlfriend had previously filed a criminal complaint for domestic violence against the now 30-year-old. The Dortmund public prosecutor's office then had the apartment of the professional footballer searched and storage media confiscated.

Schulz was trained at Hertha BSC. The full-back had one of his strongest seasons in 2018/2019 in the shirt of TSG Hoffenheim, and in autumn 2018 he was called up to the national team for the first time (a total of twelve international appearances). In the summer of 2019, he moved to Borussia Dortmund.
