It has been decided that the British rock band "Queen" and vocalist Adam Lambert will participate in the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen broadcast on New Year's Eve as a special project.

As a special project, "Queen + Adam Lambert" consisting of "Queen" Brian May and Roger Taylor, and vocalist Adam Lambert will participate.

"Queen" is celebrating its 1973th anniversary since its major debut in the UK in 50, and has gained great popularity in Japan, with 10 performances in Japan so far.

After the death of vocalist Freddie Mercury, American singer Adam Lambert, who was also nominated for a Grammy Award, joined the band in 2012 and has performed many live performances, and is scheduled to perform in Japan in February next year.

Commenting on her participation, Queen said, "We want you to listen to our songs on New Year's Eve, have a good time, and feel connected to your friends and loved ones."

The 2th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen will be held at NHK Hall under the theme of "New Year's Eve Beyond Borderless" and will be broadcast on General TV, BSP74K, BS7K, and Radio 20 from 4:8 p.m. on New Year's Eve, as well as on NHK Plus.
