A seized pistol was considered to have disappeared in Brandenburg for about four years - now it has become known that it has reappeared. "It had never been gone, it was just wrongly assigned by a human error," said Interior Minister Michael Stübgen (CDU) in the interior committee of the state parliament in Potsdam. "Unfortunately, we didn't know where she was."

The packaging was incorrectly labeled, according to Stübgen. The pistol had therefore ended up in another evidence room.

The ARD magazine »Kontraste« had reported in 2020 that a seized firearm had disappeared in 2019 during ongoing investigations. The Walther PPK pistol had been confiscated and sent by courier to the North Police Department after the investigations had been completed. However, according to information from the police at the time, she had not arrived there. In its 2019 report, the State Court of Audit of Brandenburg had criticized, among other things, the storage of the exhibits.
