Expo 2030: the choice between Busan, Rome and Riyadh will be decided this Tuesday in Paris

Which of Busan, South Korea, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia or Rome, Italy, will host the 2030 World Expo? The answer will be given on Tuesday 28 November, after a vote by the member countries of the Bureau International des Expositions. The BIE's headquarters are in Paris and in recent days, the three candidate cities and countries have stepped up their efforts to try to snatch final votes.

In a salon on the chic Place Vendôme in the heart of Paris, Saudi Arabia has set up a "media oasis". A space in which the Ministry of Media presents the modernization projects undertaken by the country: the construction of futuristic cities or districts, such as Neom or the New Muraba, the renovation of the ancient capital of Diriyah to mark the attachment to heritage.

On the eve of the vote by the Bureau International des Expositions, the target audience is journalists, French politicians and ambassadors from various countries.

Abdullah Al Khouraif is a Saudi influencer and part of the Media Oasis team. "It's a matter of identifying the project, explaining our case," he describes. We want to inform people who want to know about the Saudi issue, show what exists in Saudi Arabia and why we would be very excited to host Expo 2030. It would be a big challenge and hopefully we can win.

In recent days, the South Korean president and the mayor of the Italian capital have come to Paris.
