Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that in addition to utility workers, employees of other services will be involved in snow removal in the capital.

"There are record snowfalls in Moscow these days. Today it's warming, and then it's going to snow again all week. The weather conditions are quite difficult, utility workers are working at the limit of their strength," the mayor wrote on Telegram.

He added that about 10,12-<>,<> employees of other services, including Mosvodokanal and Mosgaz, will be additionally involved in clearing snow and restoring order in the capital.

The Governor of the Moscow Region, Andrey Vorobyov, called the snowfall in the region the heaviest in the last 40 years.

"The region has the heaviest snowfall in the last 40 years. Almost 3,2 people and more than <>,<> pieces of equipment cleaned roads and streets all night. The work does not stop for a minute," Vorobyov wrote on Telegram.

According to him, special attention is paid to public transport routes. As Vorobyov noted, the most difficult situations for cleaning roads were observed in Mozhaysk, Leninsky, Lobnya and Podolsk, additional forces were sent there.

The Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Moscow Region said that 35% of the monthly precipitation fell in the capital per day, in the Moscow region - 56%.

According to the data provided by the ministry, more than 1.5 thousand road workers are involved in eliminating the consequences of bad weather, about 670 units of special equipment are involved.

"Road services are cooperating with emergency services to ensure the safe passage of vehicles," the report says.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Moscow, in connection with adverse meteorological phenomena, recommended drivers to reduce the speed and increase the distance from the vehicles in front, as well as to avoid sudden maneuvers, including overtaking, changing lanes and getting ahead. Along with this, motorists are advised to park vehicles away from trees.

Pedestrians were advised by the Ministry of Emergency Situations to avoid billboards and rickety structures, not to take shelter under trees, and not to leave children unattended.

The Moscow Municipal Economy Complex emphasized that work is being carried out everywhere in the city to clear the street and road network, sidewalks and courtyards from snow.

In addition, throughout the daylight hours in the city, it is planned to clean snow and ice from the roofs of apartment buildings, protruding elements of building facades, drainage gutters and drain funnels.

The Moscow Railway announced the transition to an enhanced mode of operation against the backdrop of snowfall.

"Clearing the track of snow was carried out all night. Currently, more than 50 units of special equipment are working on the line, about 1.5 thousand people are involved," the press service of the Ministry of Railways said.

Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, said in an interview with RT that the center of the cyclone that brought down snowfalls on the capital region has passed the latitude of Moscow and is heading to the northwest of European territory.

"Heavy snowfalls are slowly approaching St. Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod, Petrozavodsk. This is where the most unfavorable bad weather moves," he stressed.

The forecaster noted that in the central regions of Russia - from Bryansk to Vladimir - precipitation will continue.

"In the south, the temperature is also low today, but precipitation will almost stop and the wind will weaken to 5-10 m/s, with gusts up to 15 m/s. By Tuesday evening, the next southern cyclone will arrive. Precipitation again, southerly, south-easterly wind with a transition to west. Its gusts will reach 20-25 m/s," Shuvalov said.

He added that we are not talking about such a strong cyclone as on November 26, "but it is still worth preparing." According to the forecaster, on Thursday and Friday, November 30 and December 1, there will be calmer weather.
