Because he is said to have spread a threatening video with a weapon on social media, an 18-year-old has been arrested in Troisdorf. In the video, the young man threatened a still unknown person with the commission of serious crimes, the police in North Rhine-Westphalia said on Wednesday evening. According to the information, he also held a firearm in his hand.

Since the authenticity of the weapon could not be ruled out, special police units were also deployed. On Wednesday evening, the suspect was identified at the Troisdorf bus station and provisionally arrested, it was said. The officers then searched the man's apartment for the pistol and other weapons shown - but did not find anything, according to their own statements. The 18-year-old is already known to the police for violent and property crimes.

Two other young men who may be connected to the crime were also temporarily taken into custody on Wednesday, according to police. Another man, who had tried to disrupt the operational measures, also had to go to the police station.
