Nanning, November 11 (Lin Jieqi, Wang Weichen) Recently, Wu Guoquan, a graduate student at the School of Fine Arts of Guangxi University of the Arts, raised treatment expenses for his sick mother by selling paintings, which attracted widespread attention from the media and netizens. On the 23rd, Wu Guoquan said, "The people and things I encountered in the process of fundraising for my mother made me deeply feel that 'great love is boundless', and I hope that in the future, I can show more elements of 'love' in my works." ”

On the same day, the reporter came to a classroom at the Academy of Fine Arts of the Guangxi Academy of Arts, where Wu Guoquan was painting seriously. He said that after learning that his mother was diagnosed with terminal chronic kidney disease and needed an organ transplant, the family tried their best to raise medical expenses, and he also hoped to use his skills to sell paintings to raise funds for the family.

Previously, with the help of teachers and classmates, Wu Guoquan sold more than 100 of his oil paintings, many of which were award-winning works in exhibitions, as well as undergraduate graduation works. "Compared to the treatment of my mother's illness, the work is nothing, and I can create it again after the painting is gone." Wu Guoquan said.

"My mother was my first life coach, and she taught me a lot of the principles of life." Wu Guoquan introduced that his mother was very fond of cross-stitch, and under her influence, he was very interested in painting since he was a child, and although the family conditions were not good, his parents still did their best to support him to embark on the road of learning the art of painting.

In the process of painting, Wu Guoquan's eyes are always resolute, his brushes are decisive and direct, and the colors are bright and strong. Born in Daxing Village, Guo'an Yao Township, Pingnan County, Guigang City, he has the most oil paintings of Guangxi's rural scenery and coastal reefs. When he paints in the fields, he also uses the figure of his mother working as an inspiration.

He said: "Oil painting has infinite expressive power, and my works mainly want to express some wild and strong content, and when I paint the sea and reefs, I think that there are always uneven roads in the journey of life." When I create, I use tough expression techniques to create works that turn the bits and pieces of life into works, and the 'vitality' that the works feed back to me is of great help to my creation. ”

Xie Sen, a professor at Guangxi University of the Arts, as Wu Guoquan's master's supervisor, once commented that his works have a wild, primitive, and vigorous southern vitality. Xie Sen introduced that Wu Guoquan has been studying oil painting in his studio since his sophomore year, and it has been 6 years since he has been studying very hard, and he is simple and sincere.

Xie Sen told reporters that in the past, some students encountered difficulties at home, and most of them chose online platforms to raise funds, and few people offered to sell paintings like him. "I think this way is very good, using a skill to raise funds, very filial piety, but also to give back to the help of caring people in the society."

Wu Guoquan's filial piety touched caring people from all over the world to come to buy paintings, and on his desk, there was a stack of handwritten courier addresses. He said that at present, eighty percent of the works have been sold, and the buyers include teachers and friends, as well as some capable entrepreneurs, and even caring people who directly transfer money to customize the paintings. Although there is still a long way to go from the medical expenses of 30,50 to <>,<> yuan, he will do his best to reduce the burden on his family.

When it comes to his mother's condition, Wu Guoquan is very worried, but he believes that the difficulties in life are like the bottleneck period when painting, and he needs to be strong and work hard to solve the problem. He loves the reefs by the sea and the thriving plants in Guangxi, which gives him a sense of "strength" and "vitality". He hopes that the people who look at the paintings can also feel the emotions in the paintings, so that they can feel good both physically and mentally. (ENDS)
